Wang Theatre Rules

The Wang Theatre is committed to providing a safe and secure space for guests to enjoy performances. For this reason some strict security and venue policies are in place – please observe these closely during your visit.

Electronic devices

When it comes to cell phones and mobile devices, the rules can differ from show to show, so it’s important to check before you go. For most shows, cell phones must be switched off for the entirety, as flashing lights might hinder the performance. However, some shows might allow it – for example, if a concert requires the audience to shine a torch during a song or do something interactive.

Professional photography

Professional photography is not permitted unless agreed and arranged with the venue prior to each performance. Camera equipment is not permitted unless pre-authorized.

Non-professional photography

Policies on cameras and photo-taking may vary by show. Please check when booking your tickets.

Bag search

As you arrive at the Wang Theatre you will be subject to a bag search by the theater’s security team. This will be conducted via a handheld scanning tool or walk-through metal detectors – if you refuse to be searched, you will be denied entry to the theater.

Pets

Pets that are not service animals are not allowed inside the Wang Theatre. This is due to the health and safety of other patrons. If your pet is a service animal, you should contact the helpdesk at the venue before your visit so they can explain the next steps.

There are several prohibited items you must not bring inside the Wang Theatre at the Boch Center. It is important that you familiarize yourself with the below list to ensure you are prepared accordingly for your visit.

Emergency protocol

When it comes to health and safety at the Wang Theatre at the Boch Center, the staff take matters very seriously. This is why each member of the team is trained on safety protocols before they start working at the venue.

There are various exits in the building patrons can use in case of an emergency. It is important that you follow instructions from a member of staff. If you have been advised to evacuate the premises then do as instructed for the safety of you and other patrons around you.
