Let’s all agree: there simply is nothing like a Riverdance.
And to up it a notch: there is nothing like Riverdance on tour with a special anniversary show celebrating a wonderful 30 years with an amazing new generation of dancers, all of whom were only born after Riverdance itself was conceived. Let’s call it a "rejuvenation" of the much-loved original Riverdance: new and innovative choreography, breath-taking costumes, and incredible lighting, projection, and motion graphics, while staying true to the exquisite artistry of the very same Riverdance that became a global sensation in 1995 - a bucket-list show for sure!
Riverdance 30: The New Generation is set to kick off the North American leg of the special anniversary tour in St. Petersburg, Florida, at the end of January 2025, bringing the magic that transformed Irish dance from a chaste and reserved tradition into a new, modern form of art, to 35 major venues across the country before wrapping up in Portland, Oregon, early June 2025.
What started as an interval act at the televised Eurovision Song Contest 1994 at the Point Theatre in Dublin escalated into a full-fledged global takeover after producers John McColgan and Moya Doherty developed it into a full-length show. Tickets sold out within the first three days – a testament to how well it was received after being broadcast to three million viewers. The first show featured the iconic lead dancers Michael Flatley and Jean Butler.
After 30 years of sold-out shows, rave reviews, and breaking records, it is undeniable: Riverdance has had a profound impact on world stages with their stunning celebration of culture, music, and physical talent. Riverdance has it all: Grammy Award-winning Bill Whelan’s masterfully composed music, beautifully expressive emotions amplified, energetic and thrilling choreography with not a single toe out of place, and a spectacle showcasing a rich tapestry of ear-pleasing, eye-popping, and jaw-dropping artistry.
With one of the largest stages in the country, the Wang Theatre is the perfect host to any kind of dance performance. The venue boasts 3,500 seats spread across four areas: the orchestra floor, orchestra boxes, a mezzanine, and a balcony, providing the best views and experiences regardless of where you choose to be seated.
Get your tickets now and get ready for a night of genuinely breath-taking, goosebump-inducing dance and music!
