With four Grammy awards, eight Billboard music awards, five Brit awards, and countless other accolades and nominations from reputable award-giving bodies, Ed Sheeran is one of the most highly-awarded artists of his generation. This doesn't come as a surprise, as the English singer-songwriter has put one hit after another over the past few years.

From his humble beginnings in 2004 to his massive success in recent years, Ed Sheeran continued to push himself to craft albums that are not only relatable to his fans but speak volumes of his growth as an artist and songwriter. He first captured the hearts of fans worldwide with his 2011 album "+ (Plus)." The songs "Lego House" and "The A Team" became an instant hit, with the latter getting a Grammy nomination as "Song of the Year." This recognition introduced his songwriting skills to the world and set him apart from other "white guys with guitars."

After the success of his debut album, he released several albums and collaborations with other artists. In 2014, he released his sophomore album "x (Multiply)," which gave the world the hits "Photograph," "Sing," and "Thinking Out Loud," among many others. He followed this with "÷ (Divide)" in 2017, an album that debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and the US Billboard 200. The anthem "Perfect" and other songs like "Castle on the Hill," "Happier," and "Shape of You" all charted in several territories, making it one of the most successful albums of the singer. In 2021, Ed Sheeran released his fourth studio album, "= (Equals)." The album was supported by five singles: "Bad Habits," "Shivers," "Overpass Graffiti," "The Joker and the Queen," and "2step."

This year, the 32-year-old pop star released his fifth studio album, completing the "mathematics" of his discography. Rightfully named "- (Subtract)," the album was released on May 5 and was supported by the single "Eyes Closed," which was released weeks prior to the album. With the visually appealing videos accompanying them, the songs in the album are more emotional than their predecessors. Songs like "Boat," "Curtains," and "End of Youth" show Sheeran's vulnerability through well-crafted melodies and superb songwriting — something that only Ed Sheeran can pull off.

As an album that completes the mathematical symbols in his discography, Ed announced that he will embark on a massive tour dubbed "+ – = ÷ x (Mathematics) Tour." However, in addition to his highly-anticipated stadium tour that begins in May, he will also be performing his new album, Subtract, in its entirety at select intimate shows. The artist confirmed that he will run special gigs, named the "Subtract Tour," at smaller venues all over the US and Canada, where he will play his newest album in its entirety.

And good news to all Boston Ed Sheeran fans: he will stop at the Wang Theatre At The Boch Center on June 29 (Thursday). Don't miss this chance to hear the Grammy award-winning artist sing the songs from his newest album! Get your tickets now by hitting the "Get Tickets" link.
