Here's how serious they are. Even Steve Mac's guitar rig is extremely close to Gilmour's set-up. With elements custom-made by Pete Cornish (Gilmour closely worked with them), it takes a great deal of dedication to replicate the original band down to their own equipment from decades past.
"The music is doing the talking, not the people on the stage," Chris Barnes shared with Misplaced Straws in an interview. Explaining how the original band was really all about music back in the day, he narrates how the fellas from an underground background weren't really engaging with TV, photoshoots, and a bunch of press shenanigans. "But really it is following that blueprint that Floyd kind of set down. "When the Aussies got the band together, the original guys, still to this day we follow to the letter their kind of ethos of we’re going to play it like this it’s going to be like the album."
