It’s been 30 years since Irish dance champions Jean Butler, Michael Flatley, and the vocal ensemble Anúna took the stage during the interval at the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest, blowing the audience away. Producers John McColgan and Moya Doherty expanded it into a full-stage production, opening in 1995 in Dublin, and since have been delivering the magic of Riverdance straight to the hearts of over 30 million audience members around the globe with over 15,000 performances in 49 countries and six continents.
The special anniversary tour is set to rejuvenate the much-loved original show with new, innovative choreography, costumes, lighting, projection, and motion graphics, and most importantly, welcoming a new generation of performers, all of whom were not born when Riverdance was conceived as a full production 30 years ago. The North American leg of the Riverdance 30: The New Generation tour is slated to visit 35 major cities, kicking off in St. Petersburg, Florida, at the end of January 2025 and wrapping up in Portland, Oregon, early June 2025.
